SAVE the Westminster Boating Base.

Help SAVE the Westminster Boating Base (WBB), a kids charity and WIN a large canvas print of London. Make a donation of £10 or more for your chance to win.

The WBB is a  charity which gives children and young adults the opportunity to learn to sail and kayak on the central London River Thames, at Pimlico in London, for just £15 per year!  But because of the Coronavirus lockdown, the WBB has no income and is running a crowdfunder campaign to keep it afloat until it can re-open.

Make a donation of £10 or more for your chance to WIN

Imagine a beautiful, large canvas print featuring London, in your home. That print having been taken from the perspective of a little kayak.  Each canvas that you can choose from was exhibited at the Riverside Gallery in Richmond last autumn. These are the actual prints that were on the walls. It will be a striking addition to any room and great above your settee or above your bed.  One lucky person is going to win this canvas – there are eight to choose from…..

Why suppot the Westminster Boating Base?

Not only does the WBB give children and young adults the opportunity to learn to sail and kayak in central London for just £15 per year, but they also do a lot of work with disadvantaged children and local schools. They offer very low fee sessions for the over fifties and sessions for younger adults too.  Everyone over the age of ten can learn to sail and paddle kayaks and canoes on the central London River Thames. It’s great for developing water based skills and confidence, fitness, an understanding and respect for water, an appreciation of the natural environment, teamwork and strong friendships. All sessions are ran by qualified instructors.

How large are the prints?

These are all large prints, suitable to hang above a bed or settee. For the actual sizes, please take a look at this page

Artist / Photographer

I'm a London-based artist and photographer who has explored rivers and waterways by kayak for decades. This website celebrates my photographic journey along the Thames from its source to the Docklands, captured from water level. Now working as an abstract artist, I create paintings inspired by water's beauty and movement, shaped by years of kayaking, diving, and following the flow.

In 2017, I set off on an adventure to explore the entire Thames by kayak, paddling 215 miles from its humble beginnings as a Cotswold ditch near Kemble all the way towards the sea. Getting up close and personal with the water, sometimes literally in it, allowed me to capture intimate images showing how the river transforms and grows as it winds through Oxford, Reading, and London. After showcasing London's waterways in a solo exhibition in 2019, the pandemic sparked a creative shift towards abstract art, though I'm certain my camera and I will eventually reunite to complete the journey to the sea.
